From January 2017 to the end of December 2018, France trialled the mandatory labelling of the origin of milk and meat used as ingredients in processed products. The consultants ADE, Protéis and OPSIO have thoroughly evaluated the implementation and impacts of this system at the national level and, in particular, the associated costs for those involved in the sectors it affects and for consumers, as well as the impact on the latters' purchasing behaviour. This note sets out the main lessons of this evaluation.
