The governance structure of the FRCAW is made up of three bodies :

Members represented on the Steering Committee are signatories to the founding principles of the FRCAW.

A network of scientific
and technical experts

The FRCAW calls on a network of identified experts that encompasses all the skills required for the understanding of the welfare of animals under human management in all its aspects.

These experts are drawn in the first instance from the institutions who are signatories to the FRCAW agreement and then from the partner institutions of the Advisory Committee.

Experts from outside organisations may also be called upon for their expertise in related field(s).

An advisory
committee

Membership of the Advisory Committee of the FRCAW is currently open to over 40 stakeholders including :

  • FNEAP (French federation of public abattoir operators), FedeV (federation of meat industries and wholesalers), Culture Viande;
  • Allice (French syndicate of cultural cooperatives for livestock and animal insemination);
  • FCD (French federation of trade and distribution);
  • SCC (French kennel club), LOOF (French official feline studbook), SNPCC (French syndicate of dog and cat professionals), PRODAF (French syndicate of companion animal professionals);
  • OABA (organisation for the assistance of animals in abattoirs), LFDA (foundation for animal rights, ethics and science), WELFARM, FBB (Brigitte Bardot foundation), CIWF (Compassion in World Farming), SPA (French society for the protection of animals), Fondation 30 millions d'amis (30 million friends foundation), CNDA (French confederation for animal protection); 
  • FAA (animal aid foundation), Pronatura, LPFC (French horse protection league);
  • Agronomy specialists from the higher education sector;
  • The Comité national d’éthique des abattoirs (CNEAb) of the Frenh Conseil national de l’Alimentation (CNA)
