Document type : editorial for the special report pubished in Zilsel

Author: Morgane Jouvenet

If Zilsel's ambition in publishing this dossier of reports on animal studies (AS), was to be a trail-blazer its failure was almost guaranteed. Current interest in studies carried out in the human and social sciences (SHS) on the relationship between humans and animals has been further demonstrated in recent months, notably with the publication of several journal articles dedicated to this matter . The idea here  is not to start a movement, nor to revive  a forgotten topic. It is, rather, to add to the interest that surrounds SA today and, more particularly, what can be described as the study of anthropozoological relations, that is to say work "that takes as its object both humans and animals, starting from situations that bring them together"  . The aim is instead to share in a movement and to contribute to the expansion - albeit briefly, given the potential for growth  - of reflection on anthropozoological relationships and their part in society.
