A set of practical sheets presenting Welfare Quality® Indicators for pigs, covering eight priority areas: rearing, transport, slaughter and killing, birth management and housing, fitness for transport, pig stunning, group housing and mixing, on-farm killing. Used by inspectors, they enable potential or existing welfare problems to be identified, and compliance with European legislation to be verified. For each indicator, an information sheet is drawn up, describing the underlying welfare problem, the legal requirements and a suggested inspection and scoring method.
