Summary: Do you understand what is involved in the concept welfare for your horse. Do you know how to evaluate it? Very often, welfare and good treatment are confused, when in fact good treatment is just part of welfare. So we first need to make it absolutely clear. To look after your horse's welfare you must both check that it has everything it needs and also that its environment allows its emotional state to be positive. Knowing how to observe your horse is therefore essential to identify its emotional states and track any changes in them. Moreover, knowing how a horse perceives its environment, including its relationships with humans, allows us a better understanding of the causes for particular emotional states enabling us, depending on the state, either to encourage or discourage them. All these matters will be addressed during this webinar, with the addition of all the latest findings on horses' "intelligence".
