Preview: The Walloon Government adopted, on its second reading this Thursday, the draft decree establishing a three-year scheme to assist councils in supporting animal welfare. The text allows financial support to be provided to local councils to put information and communication measures in place, along with support for events designed to address issues such as the sterilisation or identification of animals, and the impact of fireworks on animal welfare. "For comparison, this sum is more than double that paid out for cat sterilisation in recent years", commented the Minister for Animal Welfare, Céline Tellier.
