Preview : The product of  a collaboration between IFCE, INRAE (National Research Institute for Agriculture, Food and the Environment) and the University of Milan, the "Cheval bien-être" (Horse welfare) protocol makes it possible to assess the welfare of a group of horses in their setting at a particular moment in time.

It is intended for all those who keep horses, professionals and individuals. This protocol is able to draw attention to areas in which the horses' welfare is degraded and to serve as a basis for consideration of how their living conditions might be improved.

Currently available on the internet in the form of a detailed protocol and an input grid, it will soon be offered as an application for smartphones.

This talk presents the protocol and the data entry grid along with examples of the assessments they have made possible

A first talk on this topic was given  on 15 October: Quels indicateurs pour mesurer le bien-être équin
