Recherches et innovations en santé animale : un partenariat renforcé entre INRAE et Ceva Santé Animale

Preview: On February 18, 2021, Philippe Mauguin, President and CEO of INRAE and Dr. Marc Prikazsky, President and CEO of Ceva Santé Animale, signed a first framework agreement that will strengthen their collaboration in the field of farm animal health. This signing, which comes in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic and, more locally, avian influenza, declares the two institutes' shared intention to work in partnership at the interface between animal health, human health and environmental health, based on the global health concept of "One Health" and, in particular, on the prevention of infectious diseases of animal origin and the improvement of animal welfare [...].

The two signatories share a common vision of the need to create of safe and welfare-friendly animal husbandry systems. This agreement makes it possible to frame their priorities for action in terms of research, innovation and economic development and to intensify their interactions around two areas:

Area 1: Diagnosis, prevention and treatment of infectious diseases

- Early detection/diagnosis of diseases (precision breeding and artificial intelligence, "bedside" diagnosis)

- Vaccines and immunostimulants

- Antibiotics and alternative treatments (pre-probiotics, bacteriophages, etc.)

Area 2: Optimising production and animal welfare

- Optimisation of reproduction (fertility, fecundity) and milk production

- Improved animal welfare (behaviour/pheromones)
