Preview: The 3rd French national dog and cat Identification week, organised by I-Cad, with the support of the SNVEL(national independent vets' union) and the Société Centrale Canine (national dog breeders' federation), will be held from 7 to 13 June in digital form.
It aims to help members of the public and professionals in the companion animals sector in France to work together on the issue of dog and cat identification, so that all owners consider microchipping their animals to be standard practice. With an estimated 60% of the total cat population in France as yet unchipped, the stakes are high.
Promoting those working in the sector
This week is intended to provide a platform for experts and professionals who are concerned over the traceability of animals to speak out and to create a space in which local authorities responsible for the management and place of animals in towns can be inspired to act and where animal protection groups can raise public awareness, educational and promotional activities can be organised by actors in the sector and the general public can become involved.
This third event has attracted many partners for I-Cad, including Virbac, SantéVet, Le Bon Coin, Royal Canin and Animalis.
All the partners will appear as partnership in the content on identification and responsible ownership to be published on the event's Facebook page, transmitted hroughout I-Cad's social networks and posted on the dedicated pet identification website.
Finally, this year again, I-Cad is supporting Gamelles Pleines (full bowls), an association that helps owners and their companion animals who are in difficulty, by publishing charitable content throughout the week and by setting up a donations page.
