Document type : Video of the INRAE-Agreenium-VetAgrosup webinar on 19 October 2021 (1h 1min 41)
In recent years, the welfare of farm animals has become a matter of public concern, resulting in the need to change a number of farming practices in order to improve the account taken of the risks of causing suffering to animals and of provision for their general wellbeing. Beyond this, good animal welfare raises the health status of livestock farms and is now studied in relation to overall health.
Following an update on research progress in farm-animal welfare, the webinar takes a closer look at poultry farming to demonstrate how practices are changing. A research and teaching professional then provides an insight into his experience of teaching this subject.
