Author : Ifip

Preview: The Order of 24 February 2020 makes provision for the performance of castration on male domestic pigs aged seven days or less by keepers of male domestic pigs and their employees, subject to compliance with the conditions and techniques laid down by instruction of the Minister of Agriculture and published in the Bulletin Officiel .
The information sheets set out the local anaesthesia and analgesia protocols that have been tested in this context.
As of 1 January 2022, only those persons who have previously completed the general distance learning module posted on the Ifip website will be permitted to castrate piglets. At the end of the module and the completion of a multiple-choice test, a training completion certificate will be issued to individuals. Practical training on site will complete the course.
