Document type: webinar announcement from the Idele
Author: Amandine Launay
Preview: A second COLOCAVO project webinar is scheduled for March 24 at 2 p.m.:
The COLOCAVO project aims to test operational solutions for the early group housing of dairy calves, taking into account the current diversity of farming systems and respecting animal welfare needs.
To address the questions raised by farmers and technicians regarding this method of housing calves, the COLOCAVO project aims to establish benchmarks that are based on experimental research.
The project partners would like to share their results with you as they become available.
Program:
– Calf behaviors: How are they measured on experimental farms, and how do calves behave when they are not resting?
– Example of the calf and heifer behavioral measurements made at the Trinottières experimental farm.
– Results from the first year of trials at the IEPL-INRAE research farm in Méjusseaume: What are the effects of milk feeding methods on calf growth, welfare, and health?
Speakers:
Domitille FOUVEZ (Brittany Chamber of Agriculture)
Lucile OBLE (Trinottières Experimental Farm)
Florine Crepel (INRAE, PEGASE JRU)
Valérie Brocard (Idele)
Amandine Launay (Idele)
