Summary: Heat stress occurs when the outside temperature affects the physiological regulation of homeothermia, to the point of causing an imbalance that is harmful to the animal. In cattle, it has many impacts.
In order to estimate these consequences, various studies have been carried out. The first shows a difference in GMQ between animals that have experienced heat stress and those that have not, whether under short or longer stress. We were also able to show that the animals most impacted by heat stress are those who have undergone it in the middle of the fattening period. The second study concludes that, when in buildings, the animals experience a higher Temperature-Hygrometry Index than outside.
