Preview: The adjustment of nosebands is subject to different regulations according to discipline and also depends on whether the regulations followed are those of the FEI or national federations. The Swiss federation of equestrian sports (FSSE), brought in a new regulation at the beginning of January 2020 on the adjustment of nosebands. [...] The driver for this measure, introduced in Switzerland and other countries, is clearly the welfare of the horse. A noseband is often tightened too much out of ignorance of its impact on the horse.
