Preview: The French national horse federation (FNC) has produced a manifesto setting out a way to end the crisis in the horse sector. It proposes "concrete" actions to "preserve what still exists".
The pandemic has led to increased costs at a time when activity has largely or totally ceased. In addition, signs of drought have been recorded. In its manifesto, the FNC advocates for the introduction of national support for the feeding of horses during a drought. Other proposed actions include the revival of the consumption of French horse meat, the creation of a horse fund for farmers in the sector, along with the cancellation of charges and help with cash flow for equestrian businesses.
