Summary : Improvements in the control of environmental conditions and air renewal would enable farmers to improve the thermal comfort of animals and management of bedding, parameters that impact body condition and health. This project set out to find out more about the needs of animals in order to offer recommendations to breeders on appropriate settings for temperature, relative humidity and air renewal. By monitoring four winter consignments in two different units we were able to establish reference values for temperature and moisture.
