Preview: The he BeBoP project sets out to help the livestock sector to implement a welfare assessment system for animals raised for meat production. Its aim is to develop practicable assessment measures for the welfare indicators adopted by the sector for fattening bullocks. BeBoP has two operational objectives: - to develop, using artificial intelligence techniques, a predictive model and a system for the analysis of the behaviour of young male cattle using streamed webcam images, and to develop and validate simplified measurement protocols for each assessment indicator (e.g. body condition, health status, human-animal relationships) for the welfare of bullocks, which can be used routinely and without risk to the observer.
