Preview : We are delighted to pass on congress and registration details for the European Federation of Animal Science (EAAP), the World Association for Animal Production (WAAP) and Interbull' Animal Science Congress. This EAAP + WAAP + Interbull Congress will be held in Lyon from August 26 to September 1, 2023 with the  theme "Climate change, biodiversity and global sustainability of animal production".
In 2023, issues concerning animal health, animal welfare and animal protection cannot be ignored. This event is a remarkable opportunity to present work and participate in sessions that provide extensive information and fruitful exchanges on these themes - see programme below.

Health and Welfare sessions:

  • Session 5 Transformation of livestock practices in response to society's expectations on animal welfare, market demand for animal products and environmental issues 
  • Session 8 TechCare and ClearFarm: pilots on PLF tools for monitoring animal welfare
  • Session 11 PLF (precision livestock farming) for health and welfare
  • Session 15 Socially acceptable pig and poultry production: what are the consequences? How can research help coping with social, environmental and legislative issues? How to meet higher animal welfare standards?
  • Session 18 Invited abstracts only, Trade-offs between health, production and welfare in pigs and poultry: which tools do we have and which research is needed?
  • Session 44 Breeding for improved animal health and welfare
  • Session 64 Improving the welfare of farmed animal species in conventional production systems through changes to housing and management practices.

French students and young researchers under  30 wishing to participate in this EAAP congress should follow this link  (line "permettre la participation d’un jeune chercheur à une manifestation scientifique"). Although the deadline for applications has passed (December 15), the committee is still accepting applications provided that they are sent quickly.
