Preview: The next European elections will take place between 6 and 9 June 2024, in the 27 member countries of the European Union. In France, voters will be called to the polls on Sunday 9 June 2024 to elect 81 MEPs.
The European Union has extensive powers to protect animals on its territory and beyond. The European election campaign therefore represents a unique opportunity for French politicians to commit to improving animal welfare in Europe. For this reason, 29 animal protection NGOs are asking all French candidates to commit themselves to a Manifesto of 33 actions to be carried out throughout the European Union.
