Preview (original in French): "Yes to entire males, no to the general practice of castration under anaesthesia". This is the motto of a group of breeders who have joined to form a new group chaired by Jean-Jacques Riou, a breeder from Finistère and former head of the Breton pork market.  They refuse to go down the path of castration under anaesthesia, "a societal, economic, environmental nonsense for the welfare of both the animal and the farmer. We would be forced to inject a local anesthetic into each testicle twenty minutes before castration, as well as administering  intramuscular pain relief. This is uother small companion animalsceptable to us breeders!" Instead, they point out non-castration makes it possible to produce high-quality  meat. "All the studies agree, under 1% of these animals present an odour risk. There are approved ways in existence to manage this issue.

The group emphasises the significant economic impact of bringing an end to castration.
