Scientific article providing the results of a survey of competitive and show riders on the risks of damage to the welfare of horses, riders and spectators during equestrian award ceremonies. Riders feel greater stress during warm-up and competition than during the award ceremony, while horses display the greatest stress during the lap of honor. Risk of injury, mostly in the form of kicking by stressed horses, is considered to be higher during prize giving.

Scientific paper testing whether AWIN, scan sampling for behavioural observations, and surveys are effective methods to assess four categories of behavioral indicators for poor welfare: stereotypies, aggression toward humans, lack of responsiveness to the environment, and hypervigilance. It concludes that the 3 methods are complementary and should be used together to properly assess these four categories of indicators.

Systematic review of the literature to identify animal-based and management-based indicators that could be influenced by changes in handling procedures for feeder pigs on the day of slaughter. Factors with the highest impact on pig welfare were the calmness of operators when handling animals, reduction of environmental noise and transport time, and control of stunning effectiveness.

Results of an Ifop survey for Woopets of 2005 people, including 1036 pet owners, carried out in November 2022 The results reveal that 41% of the respondents have changed their behaviour towards their pets because of rising prices, that 14% of pet owners who responded have already parted with their pets and that 7% (14% among those under 25 years old) are considering doing so in the future.
